Making Fertilizers At Home

Making Fertilizers At Home

Dolores Bolo  | 1 year ago
Fertilizers are elements that are very rich in nutrients and are used to improve the characteristics of the ground for the further and right development of agricultural crops. Among chemical fertilizers are those made with the "main nutrients" for the earth: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. If you have a garden or are planning to have one and build it, one of the main factors to make it last and allow plants to grow strong and healthy is fertilizer. And, let me tell you that there are things that serve as fertilizers but you have never thought of them this way. So, I will show you a way to make your own.

Fertilizers

There is a large number of fertilizers for plants. During the growth stage, it is recommended to fertilize the soil every seven to ten days. It is convenient to reduce the dose of fertilizer and increase the periodicity before spreading large quantities of fertilizer over more extended periods. Most gardeners, or just people who decide to have plants at home, accomplish these tasks. After all, they need and want plants to grow fast, strong, and healthy.

How to Make Your Own Fertilizer?

Many things can serve as fertilizer. To make one, it is obtained from the mixture and decomposition of various plant and animal origin materials such as manure, green material, and kitchen waste, among others. The decomposition process occurs under aerobic conditions, that is, with the presence of oxygen. The product obtained is a fertilizer that plants can assimilate. Some of the most common fertilizers are banana tea or eggshells. Knowing this, you are ready to start your homemade garden.

The Magic Product

For this trick, you need Epsom salt (hydrated magnesium sulfate). This element is known for its home remedy uses, but the garden might be where it shines the most and has the most benefits. Like fertilizers that you can buy in any store, Epsom salt contains many rich things for plants such as magnesium, which helps in seed germination, and absorption of vital nutrients like nitrogen and phosphorus. It is the best option if we talk about plants. They will thank you for sure!

Applying This Hack

If you put two teaspoons of Epsom salt to one gallon of water per month, the plants will grow better and quickly. If you want another easy way to use it, we recommend putting this salt with water inside a foliar spray. Misting the plant significantly increases its growth. This works exceptionally well on vegetables and roses, so it will be a great idea if you are thinking of planting that kind of plant or harvesting your food.  Not only will your garden be beautiful, but you will have been able to fertilize your plants, making them grow faster and more robust. Then you can eat a salad with natural vegetables. There's nothing better than food made and harvested at home, for sure. Yum!
